![]() The coating gives the interior copper a solid, waterproof layer of protection making it much more durable than the 20-gauge manufacturer vinyl coating that is not waterproof. The pros use either a 14 or 16-gauge wire with a 45 mL thickness coating. There are two types of chemical compounds, vinyl coated wire and polyethylene plastic coated wire. While wire gauge is an important factor, pet fence wire coating thickness and chemical compound is even more important. The lower quality wire initially saves you a small amount of money, but in most cases you will pay for this initial savings in long term maintenance and time consuming repairs over the life of your fence as thinner wire is more prone to corrosion and breakage. ![]() This keeps the shipping costs and initial purchase price of the dog fences much lower than they would be if they included the heavier professional grade of dog fence wire. Most manufacturers of pet fence systems package their systems with low quality 20 gauge wire. The difference in durability between a 20 gauge and a 14 gauge is substantial. Most professional installers like Invisible Fence® and DogWatch® also feel that this is necessary for long term durability. Some people prefer a thicker wire such as 14 or 16 Gauge for outdoor electric dog fence applications because they feel that it will be more durable and prevent wire breaks. Mixing wires of different gauges can cause problems with your transmission including inconsistent signals and even a false wire break alarm. This ensures that your signal will be consistent throughout the fence wire. If you are replacing a section of wire in your existing dog fence it’s a good idea to match the gauge of the new wire to that of the existing wire. For example, you may be able to stretch a 20-acre system to enclose 22 acres with the use of thicker wire. In this case, a thicker wire may help to increase the range you can achieve with the system. The gauge you use for your electric dog fence wire will have very little impact on the way the wire transmits the signal unless you are using a system at or near its maximum rated capacity. You can find various gauges and lengths of Invisible Fence wire® compatible wire here. Regardless of gauge, you should choose only a stranded or solid insulated wire rated for burial preferably polyethylene or plastic coated works best. Whether you’ re replacing a section of your existing fence or wiring your yard from scratch, you can easily find a relatively inexpensive and compatible wire for your project. Most professionally installed systems use the more substantial 14 or 16 gauge wire. 20-gauge wire is what you will find in most pre-packaged do-it-yourself fencing kits. How To Choose The Right Electric Dog Fence Wire Common Dog Fence Wire GaugesĮlectric dog fences are most commonly designed with 20-gauge (thinnest), 18-gauge, 16-gauge, or 14-gauge (thickest) wire. In Guston’s hands, Nixon’s jowls become unmistakably testicular, and his nose takes on the shape of a bulging phallus, which he is constantly sticking somewhere he shouldn’t-between two butt cheeks labeled “U.S.A.,” for example, or through the neck and into the hollow head of Vice President Spiro Agnew, who resembles a bulbous, lumpy pyramid. Guston made the works in two extended bursts of activity: the first in 1971, when Nixon was in his prime and gearing up for reelection, and the second in 1975, the year after his shameful, post-Watergate resignation. ![]() A week before the 2016 presidential election, Hauser & Wirth gallery opened the exhibition “ Philip Guston: Laughter in the Dark, Drawings from 1971 & 1975.” Organized by Sally Radic, of the Guston Foundation, and Musa Mayer, Guston’s daughter, the show included scores of ink drawings-and one remarkable painting-lampooning Richard Nixon. ![]() ![]() Worksheets on reading can also be tailored to suit the specific interests and needs of individual students. Yet, despite that 95.4-point gap between Winston and Rodgers on those interception plays, the former - Winston - has still produced more total expected points this season. His two interceptions have cost the Packers only 11.5 expected points. On the other end of the spectrum, you have Aaron Rodgers. Baker Mayfield is next on the list with 79.6 expected points lost via interception. Quantity is obviously Jameis’ problem, and those 24 interceptions have cost the Bucs 106.9 expected points in total. His interceptions are no more damaging than, say, Tom Brady’s interceptions. Now, the average interception costs an NFL team about 4.41 points, and Jameis is right around that league average at 4.6, so quality obviously isn’t a problem. Winston is also in a league of his own when it comes to bad plays. Only three other quarterbacks have even passed the 100-point mark this season: Dak Prescott (154.5), Russell Wilson (120.6) and Stafford (100.1).īut then there’s the flip side. That ranks first in the league by a comfortable margin. In total, Winston has added 175.2 total points on completed air yards alone. Over 82% of his passing EPA has come after the ball gets into his receiver’s hands, while only 52.8% of Winston’s passing EPA has come after the catch, which ranks second lowest behind Matthew Stafford. But a lot of Jackson’s production in the passing game has come after the catch. Only one healthy starting quarterback has averaged more, and that’s the MVP favorite Lamar Jackson. In 2019, his completed passes have averaged 1.11 expected points added. So just how good is Winston’s good? In short, his good has been among the league’s best. Because Tampa Bay is a small market team that hasn’t been very good - mostly because of what has been an inept defense in past years - you don’t really hear about Winston’s good plays. There have been plenty of quarterbacks who have thrown a lot of interceptions but have done enough good to make up for it. I just don’t know how useful it is to say interceptions are bad and if you throw a lot of them you are a bad quarterback. In fact, I’d argue that teams without one of those elite quarterbacks are better off with a quarterback like Winston.īut the interceptions! They are bad and nobody in the league has thrown more of them this season … by a wide margin. But unless you are one of the teams with one of the four or five quarterbacks capable of being great consistently, volatility shouldn’t be considered a deal-breaker. Winston might be the most volatile quarterback in NFL history, and volatility at the quarterback position is typically seen as a bad thing. But his odds of producing enough great seasons (one or two over the course of a standard contract ought to do the trick) to justify such a deal are shorter than those of the other players who will be available this offseason, whether through the draft, free agency or trade. The odds that he develops into a consistently great quarterback are long. Now, I don’t think signing Winston to a long-term deal is a sure thing. So here I am, once again, arguing that Winston is a quarterback worth investing in. These aren’t plays that bad quarterbacks make, and Winston makes them on a routine basis. ![]() ![]() ![]() While both of these titles are similar to successful games in successful franchises of the past, they are also much cheaper than the likes of Forspoken, and many of EAs titles throughout the years.
